Reading a barely legible blog post is anything but fun. Also, nobody enjoys listening to people at a family reunion drone on about the “good ole days.” That being said, blogs should be legible and not read like your ancestors talk. Below are a few tips on writing a quality blog post:

1. If you’re stupid when it comes to English, buy a grammar book. Actually, you can probably find tutorials on some place like WikiBooks. Also, it should be noted: if you’re not targeting an English audience, you should obviously not worry about your English grammar.

2. Talk about things that are interesting, make people think, help people learn, et cetera…

3. If you’re not passionate about it, don’t write about it.

4. Quality, not quantity. An example would be China(disclaimer: I have nothing against Chinese people): China makes a whole lot of toys. Everybody knows this. However, China’s toys kill people. Well, they might not KILL people.. but that doesn’t make them safe.

5. Be funny. I find that a good way to learn how to be funny is to watch stand-up comedy, a lot. It’s easy to incorporate the humor that you learn from watching stand-up into your blog post. It’s also fun.

6. Find something that nobody else has blogged about(unlike this post) and blog about it. This is probably hard to do. I was going to put an off the wall example, but I couldn’t think of anything that wouldn’t already be blogged about. Hence, it’s difficulty.

7. I’m not an outline type of person, but I do know they always wanted us to do one in High School. If you’re the organized type, you might want to try making an outline.

8. Get in the habit of posting quality blog post. You’ll make a name out of yourself as a quality blogger. The more quality post you have, the more people who are going to want to read your blog.

9. I probably should of put this up there with the grammar. But, yeah, run your post through a spell checker if you can’t spell.

10. Most importantly: have fun.
