Build blog activity with widgets
The Top Commentators Widget counts the amount of times someone comments on your blog posts. The top 5 get listed on the side bar of the blog with their name and site URL. Big sites like John Chow do this.
I would assume this widget is very helpful for start-up blogs. I mean, if there is a blog that few people read and nobody post comments on, it’s not hard to go post a comment on one of the post and automatically get your link listed on the side. It might not be extremely beneficial to your hits. But, it’s not going to hurt.
Another way to take advantage of this widget is to find to big sites that use it and become an active commenter.
